Walking to Work with Mountains and Sky

walking to work

I live halfway up a hillside, and some mornings I walk fifty minutes down to work. The road winds past fields of green and quiet hills, with the mountains standing steady beneath the wide, open sky.

By the time I arrive, I am drenched in sweat. Strangely, it feels refreshing rather than tiring. My body works hard, but my mind feels lighter. The steady rhythm of my footsteps, the warmth of the sun, and the sight of trees and clouds together turn this daily walk into something more than just a commute.

It is fifty minutes of breathing, sweating, and walking with the mountains and the sky—a small ritual that grounds me in where I live, and gently reminds me of who I am becoming.
