What We Asked For

We asked for courage,
and were given challenges to overcome.

We asked for wisdom,
and were handed problems to solve.

We asked for love,
and received people to care for.

We asked for growth,
and walked through trials to endure.

We asked for freedom,
and met choices with consequences.

And so, everything we needed…
was already hidden inside the life we lived.
