Never Hungered to Be Known

country, acoustic, melodic

Why do people long to be understood,
While I never cared if anyone could?
Not for praise, nor for words that please —
I’m searching for depth, not surface ease.

Of course I care how I’m seen,
But I still do what I believe.
Even in doubt, I choose what’s true —
Not betraying me, that’s what I do.

I question all, I trust in none,
Till I test it myself, till it’s undone.
Even then, I doubt what I see —
Truth must be burned into me.

Is it stubbornness or something more?
To crave the pain, to crave the war?
Willing to pay for what I find —
I trade my peace for a certain mind.

A soul alchemist, tearing lies apart,
Letting real fire light my heart.
When it hurts, that’s when I know —
What breaks was never mine to hold.

I question all, I trust in none,
Till I test it myself, till it’s undone.
Even then, I doubt what I see —
Truth must be burned into me.

I’ve never hungered to be known,
That thirst was never mine to own.
I speak, I feel, I simply be—
No need for anyone to agree.

From my inspiration, voiced by Suno.
